Despite occurring in 1 in 26 people in the United States, and an estimated 50 million people world wide, epilepsy remains misunderstood as a condition. People with epilepsy are often subjected to stigma — from incorrect medical first aid to social rejection and isolation — that deeply affects their mental health and self esteem.
Not Who We Are was created to combat those stigmas as well as educate the general public about epilepsy.
